What Backblaze B2 is
B2 is the storage half of a company that made its name on consumer backup, and it prices accordingly: USD 6.95 per terabyte per month with Class A, B and C API calls all free on pay-as-you-go, so uploads, downloads and listings cost nothing per request. Egress is free up to three times your stored data and USD 0.01/GB after that, and transfer to Cloudflare and Fastly is free under the Bandwidth Alliance. There is no Australian region — the nearest locations are US West and Amsterdam.

A higher-throughput B2 tier aimed at AI and HPC workloads, priced above standard B2 in exchange for much higher aggregate bandwidth. Standard B2 pay-as-you-go pricing was unaffected at the time, but it signalled that the flat commodity tier is no longer the whole product — B2 has since moved to $6.95/TB with all Class A, B and C API calls free.
