Vercel ships Fluid compute
Fluid compute replaced one-request-per-instance serverless with a model that reuses warm instances across concurrent requests, and brought Active CPU pricing with it: you are billed for CPU actually consumed rather than wall-clock invocation time. It made I/O-bound Next.js apps markedly cheaper and made the invoice markedly harder to predict in advance.
